Francesco Vezzoli:
The Museum of Crying Women

Exhibition catalogue published by KALEIDOSCOPE on the occasion of Francesco Vezzoli’s debut in the Middle East, at Qatar Museums in 2013.

Created through a dialogue between the artist, Hans-Ulrich Obrist of London’s Serpentine Gallery and Rem Koolhaas, Founder of architecture firm OMA, the exhibition connected multiple perspectives on the famous feminine form together. A new series of artworks inspired by Oum Kulthom, one of the most admired female Arab singers and a bronze sculpture of renowned movie star, Sophia Loren, therefore joins Vezzoli’s beautiful portraits in this ode to womanhood.
